Bilyeu, Tyler pace Tigers at NAIA Nationals; Olivet sits in 13th after opening round

LINCOLN, Neb. – Junior Lydia Bilyeu (Fulton, Ill.) and freshman Sydney Tyler (Bloomington, Ill.) shot matching opening round 77s to lead the Olivet Nazarene University women’s golf team at the NAIA National Championships on Tuesday, May 20 at the Wilderness Ridge Golf Club. The Tigers sit in 13th place overall in the 27 team field after round one.

Bilyeu and Tyler are tied for 25th place individually out of the 143 participants. Senior Ashley Miller (Springhill, Kan.) finished the day at +8 (80) and sits tied for 47th.  Sophomore Bridget Wolff (East Peoria, Ill.) shot an 87 (+15) to finish the day tied at 112th, while sophomore Kelsey Fisk (Greenfield, Ill.) shot a 91 (+19) and sits tied in 130th place.

The Tigers will take the early tee times for Round Two on Wednesday, hitting the links at 8:20 a.m. (MST).
