Tigers struggle with consistency, season comes to an end

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Olivet Nazarene University women’s golf team saw their season come to an end on Wednesday, May 21 after the second round of competition at the NAIA National Championships at the Wilderness Ridge Golf Course in Lincoln, Nebraska. The Tigers finished tied for 17th overall in the field of 27 teams with a two round score of 663 (+87).

After having three players shoot opening rounds of +8 or better, the Tigers struggled to find consistency on day two. Senior Ashley Miller (Springhill, Kan.) finished her career with an 83 (+11). Her two-day of 183 (+19) tied her for 57th place in the 140 player field.

Freshman Sydney Tyler (Bloomington, Ill.) finished the event tied for 64th overall after an opening day 77 (+5) and a day two 88 (+16) to finish with a 165 (+21). Junior Lydia Bilyeu (Fulton, Ill.) placed tied for 68th with a 166 (+22) with rounds of 77 (+5) and 89 (+17).

Sophomore Bridget Wolff (East Peoria, Ill.) had the second best day two round, shooting an 84 (+12). She opened play with an 87 (+15) to finish at 171 (+27) and tied for 104th. Sophomore Kelsey Fisk (Greeenfield, Ind.) finished tied for 117th place with a two-round total of 178 (+34) after rounds of 91 (+19) and 87 (+15).

The Tigers finished up another successful season and will hit the links again in the fall.
