CHICAGO – Senior Emma Reutter (Mason, Mich.) and junior Rachel Kilbry (Spring Lake, Mich.) combined to sweep the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Women’s Soccer Players of the Week honors for the week ending Sept. 30. The Tigers maintained their NAIA Top 10 ranking going 2-0 on the week with victories over Roosevelt University (Ill.) and Cardinal Stritch University (Wis.).
Kilbry, a defender, earned the defensive recognition by anchoring the unit that posted two shutout wins to help keep the Tigers undefeated in CCAC play. In fact, neither opponent had an attempted shot-on-goal, with Cardinal Stritch not even getting a shot off in the 5-0 Tiger win on Saturday. Roosevelt was able to muster just two shots in the 2-0 setback on Tuesday.
Reutter, a midfielder, earned the offensive honors for her goal and assist in the victory over Cardinal Strich. She also was instrumental in setting up another goal.
The No. 9 Tigers (7-2) are currently 3-0 in CCAC action tied with Trinity International University (Ill.) for the top spot. They will return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 4 p.m. when they travel to Trinity Christian College to take on the Trolls.
