Dirkse recognized by CCAC

CHICAGO –The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) announced on Tuesday, Oct. 16 that Katie Dirkse has been selected as the Defensive Player of the Week. The honor represents her contributions for the week ending Oct. 14.
Dirkse, a junior mid-fielder from Downers Grove, Ill., was a key contributor to Olivet’s (11-2, 8-0) matching 8-0 victories on the week. The No. 10 Tigers defeated Holy Cross College (Ind.) on Wednesday and Calumet College of St. Joseph on Saturday. The two opponents combined for just four shots on goal and eight shots total. The Tigers are currently ranked 13th in the NAIA in shutouts.
Dirkse also contributed to the Olivet offense dishing out three assists in the win over Holy Cross.
Olivet currently sit along atop the CCAC standings. They will travel to take on second place Trinity International University on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 5 p.m.
