BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Olivet Nazarene University women’s soccer head coach Bill Bahr is pleased to announce that Ellen West, a native of West Chester, Ohio, has signed a letter of intent to continue her playing career as a member of the 2013 Tiger soccer team.
“Ellen is quick, agile and has great composure on the ball. She is one of our top recruits and will be a strong addition to our 2013 roster, said Bahr. “We are hoping Ellen will be one of top competitors this fall and make an immediate impact.”
West, a 5-3 center-midfielder, was a four-year member of the Landmark Christian High School soccer team, she helped lead the Eagles to three consecutive National Christian School Athletic Association-Great Lakes Classic championships. In 2011, she was recognized as an NCSAA First-Team honoree. As a participant in the National Home School Soccer Tournament, she received numerous accolades, including defensive MVP (’09), offensive MVP ('11) and team MVP in (’10, ’12).
“I enjoyed the atmosphere, loved the coaches and all the girls on the team, and felt at home the first time I visited,” said West of her decision to attend Olivet.
West plans to major in athletic training while at Olivet. She is the daughter of Tom and Chris West.
“Ellen was being heavily recruited by several NCAA DI schools but we are glad she chose to come to Olivet Nazarene University,” added Bahr.
