LADY LAKE, Fla. - Danielle Pinder, a senior at Trinity Catholic High School in Ocala, Florida, has signed a letter of intent to play soccer as a member of the No. 3 Olivet Nazarene University women’s soccer team.
Pinder, a 5-8 defender, finished up a successful career as a member of the Celtic women’s soccer team. She helped lead the Celtics to four district championships (2010-2013), two regional championships (2012, 2013), two state final-four appearances (2012, 2013) and a Florida state championships (2013). Individually, she was named Defensive Player of the Year in 2012 and received All-County honors in her junior and senior years. She served as team captain in her final two seasons, and was received the team’s Spirit Award in 2013.
“I chose ONU because I felt welcome and comfortable on the day of my first visit,” said Pinder of her decision. “When I attended the elite camp last summer, everyone on the team was positive and encouraging. ONU provides me with the opportunity to continue my education in a faith-based environment and play soccer at a very competitive level.”
While at Olivet, Pinder plans to study pre-med or forensic chemistry. She is the daughter of Rich and Michelle Pinder and has one sister, Lindsey.
