CHICAGO –Olivet Nazarene University's Rachel Kilbry (Spring Lake, Mich.) and Robert Morris University's Karina Munoz (Chicago, Ill.) both earned their first Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference weekly honors when the women's soccer awards were announced on Tuesday, Oct. 15. Kilbry secured CCAC Defensive Player of the Week, while Munoz was recognized as the CCAC Offensive Player of the Week accord for the seven-day period ending Oct. 14.
Kilbry, a senior defender, was part of an Olivet Nazarene defense that allowed only one goal and 10 shots on goal in two games against rival conference foes over the past seven days. Led by her defensive prowess, the Tigers scored a 0-0 overtime tie with Trinity Christian on Wednesday before knocking off Saint Xavier, 4-1, on Saturday.
With its win and tie this past week, Olivet Nazarene remained deadlocked with Judson University for first place in the league standings with 13 points. The Tigers are 8-3-1 overall and 4-1-1 in CCAC play.
