CHICAGO --- For the second year in a row, Olivet Nazarene University women’s soccer has had the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletics Conference Freshman of the Year. Taking the honor this year was goal keeper Sarah Vrosh (Ada, Mich.)
. The Tigers also led the league in both first team all-conference selections (four) and overall picks (six).
Vrosh (Ada, Mich.) posted No. 1 rankings in the league in goals against average (0.51), save percentage (.899), shutouts (seven in 17 games) and shutouts per game (0.41) during the regular season.
Defensive anchor senior Rachel Kilbry (Spring Lake, Mich.)
gained first-team status for the second time in three years. Also receiving first team honors were sophomore Betsy Hetrick (Plainfield, Ill.)
, junior Katie Smith (Spring Lake, Mich.)
. Hetrick is the Tiger’s leading scorer on the season with 44 points, 19 goals and six assists. Smith is third on the team with eight goals and three assists for 19 points.
Earning second team honors were sophomore Liz Wahl (Homer Glen, Ill.)
and freshman Ellen West (West Chester, Ohio)
. Wahl has 10 goals and six assists on the season for 26 points. West made an immediate impact for the Tigers finishing with three goals and three assists.
