BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Manteno High School standout Hannah Ondrey has signed a letter of intent to continue her education and soccer career at Olivet Nazarene University.

Ondrey, a 5-6 midfielder/defender, helped lead the Panthers to an 18-4-1 record her as a junior. The 2012-13 Panthers captured regional and sectional IHSA titles. As a junior, she was named All-Conference, All-Area and IHSSCA Section 9 All-Sectional Honorable Mention. She will serve as team captain for her senior season this spring.

“I chose Olivet because every time I visited the campus, every single student made me feel like I belonged at ONU,” said Ondrey of her decision. “Also, the faculty was extremely helpful in supplying information about the majors I was considering as well as answered all my other questions.”

Academically, Ondrey is also an Illinois State Scholar. At school, she is also actively involved in Panther Pals, school band, pep band, Spanish Club, Key Club, Teen Safe Driving and serves as a science lab aide. She also serves as an office aide for the St. Joseph Parish Religious Education office and is a coach for the Manteno Upward Basketball league.

Ondrey intends to major in exercise science while at Olivet. She is the daughter of John and Margaret Ondrey and has two brothers, Tim and Ryan.
