Gold, Endrizzi capture top finishes for Tigers

MARION, Ind. – Kalla Gold (Eureka, Ill.) and Hannah Endrizzi (Normal, Ill.) both captured top finishes for the Olivet Nazarene University women’s indoor track and field team at the Indiana Wesleyan University Invite on Saturday, Feb. 2.
Gold, a freshman, crossed the finish line in the 600m run with a new personal best time of 1:40.90. Endrizzi took the top spot in the 1000m run, finishing at 3:04.78. Teammate junior Christy Trank (Winnebago, Ill.) was not far behind at 3:05.78, finishing in third place.
Also placing in distance events were senior Kortney Ellingboe (Hamilton, Ill.) and junior Chantalle Falconer (Byron, Ill.). The duo finished 2-3 in the mile run, crossing the finish line at 5:17.97 and 5:21.85 respectively. Senior Jillian Versweyveld (Delavan, Wis.) placed third in the 800m run with a time of 2:30.05.
Sophomore Alexis Davis (Trotwood, Ohio) captured a second place finish in the 60m dash, finishing at 8.10, while sophomore Kamaria Goedhart (Rochester, Minn.) finished third in the 200m dash with a time of 26.71.
The 4x200m relay team made up of four freshmen: Jordyn Nettleton (Foosland, Ill.), Janelle Lucas (West Terre Haute, Ind.), Alissa Weatherford (Kuna, Iowa) and Taneka Lawson (Toledo, Ohio) captured a first place finish, crossing the line at 1:50.05.
Olivet will return to action Feb. 8-9 as they travel to Allendale, Mich. for the Grand Valley State University Big Meet. Events are scheduled to begin at 11:50 a.m. on Friday and 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
