Happy 4x800 relay team! Great race ladies!

GENEVA, Ohio – After two full days of competition, the Olivet Nazarene University women’s track and field team finds themselves tied for 11th in the 27 team field at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships at the Spire Center in Geneva, Ohio. The Tigers look to improve upon that standing entering the final day of competition.

Sophomore Amy Blucker (Galesburg, Ill.) captured fourth place in the weight throw, finishing with 17.53m (57-06.25). The two Tiger long jumpers who qualified, struggled in the competition. Senior Rachel Carman finished 18th with a 5.26m (17-03.25), while junior Olivia Casey finished 24th with a 5.16m (16-11.25).

On the track, the 4x800m relay team of senior Christy Trank (Winnebago, Ill.), junior Kylie Lippencott (Crawfordsville, Ind.) and freshmen Angelica Lafemina and Karley Brown (Lees Summit, Mo.) posted a 9:18.99 to finish sixth. Sophomore Taneka Lawson (Toledo, Ohio) finished 20th in the 31 person field in the 400m, crossing the finish line at 58.55.

The Tigers added five more NAIA All-American honorees to their growing list, with Blucker, Trank, Lippencott, Lafemina and Brown all earning the title.
Competition continues today, with running and field events starting at 10:00 a.m. (EST).
