Olivet Nazarene University women’s soccer program has never been better.
The Tigers racked up a long list of firsts in 2011, including a berth in the second round of the NAIA National Championship tournament. Along the way, they won both the CCAC’s regular-season and tournament titles, and finished ranked inside the NAIA Top 25 for the third year in a row. Senior Janel Schmitt was named ONU soccer’s first NAIA All-America First Team recipient, and former player Brittany Hengesh became ONU's first pro player when she signed a contract with the Chicago Red Stars of the WPSL Elite.
Although the Tigers have won nearly 70 matches over the last four seasons, their work off the field is just as important. The team is actively involved in community ministry and has taken its game on the road for mission trips to Zimbabwe, Australia, Guatemala and Kenya.
